Planned Parenthood Reports Increase in Abortions, Zero Adoptions
-- June 12, 2007
Planned Parenthood recently released its 2005-2006 annual report and the numbers are telling. The group performed nearly 265 thousand abortions, 3.9% more than in 2004. Abortions brought the group over $112 million. Even more striking in Planned Parenthood’s national report is the fact that they do not report referring a single woman to an adoption agency.
U.S. House Debates Misleading Cloning Bill
-- June 8, 2007
With very little notice a bill titled the Human Cloning Prohibition Act was placed on the House debate calendar but after reading the bill, pro-life lobbyist quickly found out the bill was more about legalizing cloning than banning it.
Dr. David Prentice with Family Research Council explained in an interview with IFPC. “It’s a misdirection, a deception to try to make people think that they would actually be banning human cloning but as you go into the definitions, it was true of the federal bill and it was true of the bill recently passed in the Iowa legislature, they redefine the actual meaning of cloning to suit their own means.”
While the bill would have banned cloning in which the cloned embryo would be allowed to survive, it legalized cloning for the purpose of killing for research. The bill failed by 9 votes.
