IFPC Praises Supreme Court’s Ruling
on Partial Birth Abortion Ban

Des Moines — The Supreme Court ruled today that a Federal ban on partial birth abortion is constitutional. In the 5-4 ruling the court said the ban passed in 2003 does not violate the so-called right to abortion.

“This is a great day for women and children in our nation,” said Iowa Family Policy Center President Attorney Chuck Hurley. “This ruling will end the inhumane and barbaric practice of partial birth abortion and has the potential not only to save lives, but also to save women from the pain and complications that often follow these abortions.”
